
Robert Garza, RTS1 New Zealand Director
Meet Robert Garza, a beacon of knowledge and inspiration in the fitness industry. With over 25 years of experience, he is a leading expert in exercise mechanics and is dedicated to empowering others through education. Robert served as Assistant Director of Biomechanics for the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) under the tutelage of Tom Purvis and Dr. Robert Goldman. Over the years he has accumulated numerous personal training certifications such as with ACE, NASM, NSCA-CPT, CREA, CrossFit L-1, IFA, IYCA, and the RTS Certification. In 2018 Robert was honoured to be selected as the RTS1 New Zealand Director.

Dr. Mark Slavin, International Director of Certification
Dr. Mark Slavin became one of the pioneers of fitness professional education when in 1990 he became the Executive Director of the first nationally recognized personal training certification, the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), founded in 1989. Since then has continued to be instrumental in the evolution of both education and certification in the personal training industry worldwide.
In 1997, Dr. Slavin became the International Director for the Resistance Training Specialist program (RTS) with the mission of expanding RTS into international markets. Over the decades this has evolved into his current full-time endeavor and is furthered through educational consulting roles with companies both domestic and international.
